You should plan to arrive 15
minutes prior to your scheduled
exam.(45 minutes if we will be
giving you a sedative - ordered
by your doctor in advance.) You
may eat and drink anything you
normally would. You may take
any medications you normally
take.
Upon your arrival at our
center, you will be asked to
complete your paper work. You
may do this in advance of your
appointment, by printing the
forms from this website, at the
documents link. You
will need to provide us with
your insurance card and a
current photo
I.D. We will collect your
co-pay, deductible and/or
co-insurance if due. We
will then have you change and
put your belongings in a locker.
You will be asked to remove all:
jewelry, watches, hairpins,
glasses, hearing aids,
dentures, partial plates,
eyeglasses, barrettes, etc.
Our technologist will go over
your medical history and explain
the procedure to you. You will
then choose either ear plugs or
an XM radio station to listen to.
You may also bring a C.D. to
listen to. We will make
sure you feel comfortable before
starting the exam.
After your exam, you will
change back to your cloths and
collect your personal
belongings. You are then free to
go. There are no restrictions
on your activities after the
scan, unless you were given a
sedative, in which case you will
want to go home and rest for
several hours. If you are given
a sedative, you must bring
someone with you to drive you
home. |
